varying advantage of between 3 and 6 seconds per mile over an equivalent bicycle wheel without Active-
Spoke technology installed. And seconds are significant in triathlon and time trial events :

experiment, Joseph Voelkel - PhD, Chair & Associate Professor in Statistics at RIT – documented the
following study summary:
“This chart suggests that while accelerating, the Active wheel is comparable with the Standard wheel.
However, on exiting the downhill slope as well as during the speed decline period (i.e. the Figure skater
effect), the Active wheel outperformed the standard wheel."

| Just how fast is an Active Spoke wheel? |

Active Spoke technology when compared to an equivalent standard wheel. . Below, we've included the
first series of runs. For each run, our test rider, Dirk Friel, rode a 4.6 mile rolling course while attempting
to hold his power at a constant 330watts. Within ~40 minutes after the run ended, he would switch
wheels and begin the same process once again. The chart below shows the altitude profile. The DATE
icons contain the detailed weather profile, split times and average speed, power and cadence.
